I have seen labs on TV running on tred mills and people don't think twice about it .. It only becomes an issue when it's an APBT using a mill then it becomes paraphenila ... Complete bull sh*t but that's how screwed up it is.

running peanut on a mill would save me so much frustration at the end of the day. i do execise him A LOT during the day but it seems at the end of the day he has saved up just enough energy to take it out on me by barking in my face or trying to get me on the ground to wrestle like i am a litter mate...if i could just work him on that for like 15 minutes it would be so great! then i worry if i DO get one and some one some how knows i have a pit bull and use a mill i will lose my dog (plus those things are so EXPENSIVE) so i am shopping around even looking for a free human one on craigslist so that it looks like its for me to run off some of my beer belly....ugh sorry just frustrated not fair at all!!

I have a human tred mill for my dogs ! They love it!! I bought it when they were about 6 months old .. When I don't have time to hand walk them I use it. I bought mine brand new for a little over 300.00 at walmart ... It's great to have around

I started them off real slow at like 2 mph letting them get used to it for 10-15 minutes ... And then as time went on I increased them speed/time and incline gradually .... Just go slow at first until he gets the hang of it... I think the highest my dogs have gotten to so far is like 5 mph at level 4 incline they are still young so I don't want to over do it with them I don't let them go any longer that 30 minutes. And I always start off slow and increase the intensity every 5 minutes throughout the workout.

I plan on having Tanner use my treadmill, but I am going to have to wait till my bf gets home to help me get him on it and learn. We are still working on the walk/heel and Tanner doesn't like to run with me all that much yet he is a slow poke and would rather go at his own pace. I am hoping that once he learns to keep a steady pace he won't mind running with me.

Smile Responsible Dog Owners

Let me open by stating that I am a lover of all dogs, including the Pitt Bull. I do not buy in to the bad reputation they have been given due to some irresponsible people.

If you have the time and energy to exercise your Pitt Bull 30 to 60 minutes each day, I applaud you. My clients are people who are honest with themselves and admit that they cannot fully meet the exercise needs of their dogs. Many of them have rescued dogs, saving them from death or a less-than-ideal life. By hiring me, they provide a healthy, loving, happy home to their dogs. My client profile includes, but is not limited to:
1. Dog lovers who physically cannot meet their dogs exercise needs (e.g. elderly or disabled)
2. Dog lovers who have active families (both parents work and the kids are involved in sports or other types of after school activities)
3. Dog lovers who are busy working professionals whose jobs demand 40 to 80 hours a week, or travel, or have long commutes

All of them provide great homes to their dogs and should not be looked down on because they have the means to afford my services.

The treadmill is superior to other forms of doggie exercise. Below are just some of the benefits:
1. Dogs are not subjected to extreme temperatures (heat or cold)
2. Dogs have no chance to encountering road hazards like poisons, sickness, rotting food/garbage etc.
3. Dogs have no chance of becoming lost, injured or dead because their chase instinct took over and they got away from their owner
4. Dogs are not exposed to negative energy from non-dog owners or other dogs with temperament issues

I close by stating that many of you may have, or will, experience judgment from ill-informed people about the Pitt Bull breed. I plead with you, do not become like those people by being quick to pass judgment yourselves on dog owners who are trying to provide the best possible life for their dogs by hiring me.

Thanks.

It would also be nice to have a treadmill for those nasty rainy days. I have to take my dogs to the lake to walk them, which means I put them in the car. When it's nasty out, I just walk them around the back yard. It would just be nice to have a treadmill for them so that they don't have to sufer when the weather is bad.

Even though i am going to be walking my dog more than a hour twice per day. I am still getting a treadmill. The carpet mills aren't that expensive and are a good investment, for days that you are unable to take the dogs out, or for the days the dogs are still hyper after taking them out.
