Flirt Pole Problems

I ordered a Flirt Pole from O'Briens. I received it yesterday. I have a 20 month old blue pit. I been trying to get him to go after it. He just looks at and walks away or goes down on all fours and just looks at it. Is there a trick to this. Thank you.

I have one just like it, my dog loved it.
I occasionally change things up by adding a toy or piece of scrap fabric to the end (maybe that would work for you, perhaps your dog just doesn't like the lure) I just wave it around in front of him and he jumps and chases it (but he does have a VERY high prey drive), I take it away right before I think he'll get bored so he is always wanting to play with it more.

Walk through the yard with it and drag the end of it through the grass....or attach a small fluffy toy he likes to the end of it...

My dogs literally loose their minds when I take the flirt pole out...they are nuts!!!!

My girl wouldn't like that lure. I tie on fluffy toys for her - usually stuffed toys that have been loved until there is no stuffing left. Bizmark prefers toys that have some squeak to them, so that's what I tie on for him.

I finally got him to chase it around and jump for it. But he stops from time to time. I have to run around with and tell him get it get it. The. He gets excited goes after it got awhile then stops. I will try a toy tomorrow. Also we just got a treadmill. What's a good way to treat him with and how long? Thanks
