4 week old pitbull
What's up everybody, so I'm a new member here and I just got a 4 week old puppy, a week ago. I know she's too young, but she was a rescue puppy. The mom didn't want her so someone picked up the puppy for their 2 year old, they only had the pup for about 3 days but she was swarmed with fleas, she had diarrhea, a stomach infection, worms, and extremely dehydrated. I've wanted a dog for a long time and I felt so bad for her I figured I'd take her in and save her life.
So I guess my question is if anyone has any tips? I've been bottle feeding her every 2-3 hours in small portions, and just started feeding her mushy food. The vet recommended me to blend rice, chicken, and veggies and just drop some milk in there so it isn't too thick for her.
She also has a crazy biting habbit as well as a bad growling habbit. I signed her up for puppy kindergarten, it's an 8 week course, once a week. I think it's my best bet at socializing her but it's not till two weeks from now which means she would be 7 weeks old, would she be too old to learn biting inhibition? I try saying no and stick a toy in her mouth but she's more interested in attacking my legs or hands. She bends down like a cheetah waiting for the perfect time to jump in for the kill. Lol.
