Never mind she finally ate but how much longer do I need to keep her inside she whines constantly in the crate all day long but if I let her out she destroys everything and I'm worried she will bust her stitches out, it's been 4 days since she was re stitched back up but 9 days since surgery she whines all day long in the crate and I want to put her outside in her outdoor kennel but I'm not sure if it's safe to right now

try 9 months confined to a crate beating heartworms.. it is soo hard.. but you have to deal with it for the safety of your dag. Keep her confined.. turn up the music and drown out the whine.. IT SUCKS,, but the alternative is WORSE!

As for the eating thing.. Im sure she is well fed and fat-ish.. a few days of fasting wont hurt.. when she is hungry she will eat..!!

Can you see the hip bones?

If you need to force food.. soften it with water and warm it a bit, add an egg or some broth or some burger..

Man if you ever have another dog youre gonna be a pro lol

This is my 4th dog my 1st was a cocker spaniel mix put down at the age of 15 she started losing a lot of weight and got really weak and I have a 8 year old papplion we've had since she was still a puppy then I got a pit bull who got sick really suddenly at 4 years old the vet said she has a ear tumor but she was still hyper active her neck was swollen though I was raisin money for surgery and she started twitching and puking constantly unable to stand the vet diagnosed her with brain cancer and we had to put her down. 3 days before we put her down my neighbors pit gave birth to 7 puppies and that's why I gt diamod when she was 4 weeks old because the pups were running in road and after I gt diamond they put them in back yard behind fence but all puppies had blisters from being bit by fire ants and the one pup they were planning on keeping got lost mama had to go be quarantine for brig someone a week after I got diamond leaving 6 5 week old pups without the mom anyway so I felt I rescued diamond from a bad situation

Bizmark had the same style cone. The fact that it was flexible was an absolute Godsend.
Biz had to be crated for 7 weeks. I get it, it's hard on you and the dog, but they absolutely do need to be crated until the incision is fully healed or they'll do themselves harm.

Those cones are really easy for our shelter pups to get at their stitches since they are soft, just be careful if she explores the area. My boy did great with a procollar. Can you dip the pill in peanut butter? I just open my boys mouth and shove it far far back and then close his mouth and he swallows. Good luck hope your pup feels better!!
