First of all, if you are looking to purchase a dog based on its collar, your money is probably going to a backyard breeder, one who may BREED for color, and it might seem like a match made in heaven, but that is exactly what's ruining the breed.
I don't believe in buying ANY dog over the internet, unless they are willing to meet you, or set up some arrangement so you don't just fork your money over to a stranger.
Second of all, when are they planning to home the puppy? You should never take a puppy home before 8 weeks, as the 6-12 week age is crucial for a pup to learn certain socialization skills from his littermates, and bite inhibition from the mom. Youre actually doing both a puppy and yourself an injustice when you bring them home so young. Many people on this site, including myself either got puppies young due to being uninformed, or because we were duped by a back yard breeder.
Does the breeder health test? Do they work their dogs? Are they registered with the ADBA or UKC? What bloodlines do their pedigrees hold? Any titles?
Those are all questions you should ask, before even considering the COLOR of a puppy.
One other reason why I feel strongly against purchasing a puppy over a website, is that you won't be there to evaluate the behaviors of the puppy. All you can see now are images of the puppy, and there is NO guarantee that it doesnt have any undesired traits, simply because you are not there to recieve it in the flesh.
IMO, I would advise against buying a pup from a website. There's plenty of knowledgeable, reputable breeders who set a good example for the breed, and contribute, wether its by working their dogs, or showing them in conformation. Also, buying from a reputable breeder will ensure that you are taking home a happy, healthy, mentally sound pup. The alternative would be to buy from any BYB and contribute to the people who don't have enough knowledge to be called reputable, and who are single handedly ruining the breed. Its not fighters, its not bad owners, its the idiots who think anyone can breed.
Good luck with your search, hope you put a little more time into it.
