Leash your dog ! no matter what

Hi Folks,

This is much more than a post, I'm removing something off my chest.

As a AMSTAFF owner I'm sick and tired of have to protect the others dogs from their owner unresponsability.

upset they dont give a dime about dog training or good manners.

Dogs on streets requires a leash, not matter how small they are, and if they are big, but you cant command/control them, DONT GO OUT.

We do have laws about it (in this country) but no one follows it and yesterday I had to take the most difficult decision in my life... to unleash my dog, to give him the right to defend himself.

No dogs was killed, injuried I say. But, more than that. After 36 years of a good life, I had too to put my hands in actions to kick someone ass.

Its unaceptable that someone walk with his dog unleashed and this dog be aggressive.

The BSL is an synonym of impunity. If you want a dog (no matter the breed) you should be able to control, feed, train, etc, it.

This is infuriating. I have many times had to fight off other people's dogs as well walking in the neighborhood, let's not mention when hiking! People think that they are above the law, and because they own a "nice" or small breed everything is ok. Two different Goldens, a German shepherd, a yorkie, and a toy poodle went after my old dog on our walking routes. there was even an italian greyhound that would chase after him every time we tried to walk biting at his paws. He was a big baby and wouldn't defend himself even though at times I wished he would. If he had it would've been his fault though!

I'm just sick and tired of this all BS. BSL is a answer for imbecils and stupid people.

Dogs are just like car, you need a license. just like that. No matter how big or small is the dog.

This push-push game is frustrating.

I would hate to carry a gun to protect myself or my dogs, but it seems that i live in a wild place.

I have had the same thing in the chicago metro area with a neighbor a block away... he has a husky that likes to escape and attack other dogs and even chase people and yet the village of skokie does nothing. had to use my steel toe boots to defend my dog last winter and another neighbor has had to pepper spray it twice. now i carry pepper spray every time i take lucky out and he is always on a leash.

They are my dogs worst enemy for sure! I make sure I only go where it's illegal to have a dog off leash and it still happens. So infuriating.

What makes it worse is coming across people who don't feel a dog on a leash is allowed to be a dog. Seriously?! They are the worst. Trying to make me feel guilty because my dog is on a leash!

Kind of bumping an older thread but i wasn't going to make a new one for this...

I was walking bruno today, and a neighbor around the corner had his pitbull/bully mix outfront with no leash just hanging out. As soon as he saw me and bruno he came charging at Bruno and tried to attack him, luckily i was able to keep them apart until the owner grabbed his dog. I was able to yank back the other dog and bruno wasn't being aggressive, if anything he wanted to play but the other dog was angry and trying to bite bruno's neck, he got some slobber on him, luckily that was it.

This happens way too often, i always see dogs in yards off leash or just walking around and i constantly have to turn around or go a different route or something to avoid conflict. Today was the first day it became physical, it could of been a lot worse.

I really don't know why people can't just contain their dogs and keep them on leashes. Drives me crazy!

I've solved my problems. No more issues with dogs unleashed, actually, being honest I provide 30 seconds to the owner leash his dog or I assume that's a immediate and real threat and I will shoot based on my right to defend
Myself and my property .

God blesses Gaston Glock the peace maker.

Oh heck yeah!!!! I can't stand unleashed dogs allowed to roam free! It's real annoying when I'm on a hike and someone's off leash dog comes running up and the owber shouts "it's ok, he's friendly!" ........ Um lady, sure YOUR dog may be friendly but that doesn't make mine friendly to dogs. In fact she'd love an afternoon snack haha.

Couch,

I heard the young ladies used to unleash dogs in order to look for a boyfriend and possible husband.

Now, every time that a young lady does that, I used to ask: is me what you looking for ? I can see in your eyes, I can see in your smile !!!

Lionel Richie ruleZ !!!!

Ps: I'm not sexist . Lol

I alway worry about this too, it's bad enough if I'm walking my pup to have it happen but sometimes my mother walks my dog titan. Or my wife takes him for a long walk with one or both of my kids and what the heck will they be able to do.. So far we have been lucky but I have seen situations when a dog gets out of a neighbors house here and there. And of course any type of protection item knife club mace gun is illegal in my city/state.
