My question is why do you want to crop those beautiful ears, she looks great with her ears intact. What advantage does cropping her ears have? Not judging, just curious why you want to crop.

I understand that some pedigreed dog owners will have their dogs ears cropped to achieve a distinctive appearance for that breed but IMO no need to crop if not necessary.
Again, not judging, just something to consider.

Depends on the vet, but 50-100$ around Indianapolis. But, I think having cropped ears looks tacky and doesn't add to the perception that the breed is friendly and inviting.
I find that a certain kind of folk have their dogs ears cropped, and they are not the kind of folk that generally are a desirable lot. When you are about town, look and see if you want to be associated with those owners, because you will be.

I had a PR dog from some solid bloodlines back in 2002 that I had considered showing. I got his ears cropped for show purpose, not necessary but I thought he would look a bit more regal. If I remember correctly, I paid between 75-100$ for it. The vet basically gave us 3 options, to put it simply, there is a long crop, a medium crop and a short crop. We went with the medium crop and it looked great. It is a medical procedure though, the dog will be under sedation, and the ears will be bandaged(and a bit painful) for a time afterwards. Looking back, I feel a bit bad for doing it, and will never do it again, but that's just me. I will try to dig up some pics of him once I get my recently crashed laptop up and running again. You can google the 3 styles of crop also to see what would be the best fit for your dog if you decide to do it. Personally, i'm with the rest of the comments, I think she looks great and would give it some serious thought before cropping.

I've cropped ears for over thirty years, haven't done one of my own in over twenty years,
No need for it.
Vets around here charge 4-6 hundred per dog, myself now about a hundred,
And do it at 4-6 weeks old, with no bandages.
Now, you don't have enuf money for me to crop one I'm going to keep,
The stigma, of 'that look' is something I don't want.......
James Edwards taught me. Done well over 100, probly closer to 2 hundred,
And never 'lost' one,
But take one to the vet to get done,
You hear nightmare stories all the time, plus too much aftercare,
If I was you I wouldn't do it. Like Joe said, not judging,
She's yours to do as you please.

Hello everyone, my wife and I have our first American Bully, she comes from a pretty good show line...I wanted to see if anyone had suggestions on a GOOD vet to take her for ear cropping, one that does a really good job, in the Tucson and Marana Arizona area...also what does this procedure usually cost?
