Spring pole help please!

so i built my first spring pole yesterday and i was wondering how everyone introduced there spring pole to their dogs to get them to go for whatever rope or toy is tied to the end because as of now and last ngiht i brought one of Apollos favorite toys out back and when i was going out side with it he was going nuts jumping up trying to get it out of my hand but the second i tied it up it was as if the toy wasnt their and he had no interest in it anymore.... so any tips on how to get him to use it would be helpfull and appreciated , i would hate to think i just spent all this time and money for nothing if their is a way that i dont kno of to introduce the spring pole to him so he will love it

we have never had an actuall spring pole but we had a goofy set up at my sisters old house. we didn't have to do much intro, just put something on there your dog already likes. if your dog is gonna be into it i bet you'll know in the first day or two.
Good luck!!

have him watch a experianced dog work the spring pole first.
although some dogs just dont do spring poles, ive never had one that didnt but i know some dont.
also it helps to start out with the flirt pole and work up to the spring pole.
when it comes time to use it,swing it around and wave it infront of the dog and try and stimulate his/her prey drive.

I have a flirt pole that i made almost about month ago and he loves it probebly one of his favorite things to do is play with the flirt pole i have some jute on the end for him to chase and catch and he likes that alot so i thought at first that i should try using some just for the springpole but he didnt take to it so i started using some of his favorite toys and i would swing them around above him so get him to catch it but still no intrest at all .... so i dunno maybe the spring pole just isnt for him
