My dog is part beaver

I need help. Lol. I have tried everything to give my 1 year old to play with and its destroyed in a matter of minutes. Hours at the most and I'm talking about heavy duty things, not plush squeaker toys. I have a XL black Kong that has held up but even that looks like it went thru a war. I have given huge knotted ropes and she manages to undo knots and I find colorful strings everywhere. So I looked on some sites and noticed people said to use pieces of canvas firehose. Turns out that's not safe either. She frayed the entire thing. My question is has anyone made a DIY toy that can withstand this kind of chewing or a website that has them? I feel the only thing left, is to give her a brick and call it a day.

Have you tried antlers? They tend to hold up well. I also like the extra strong Nylabones, and some bigger toys they can't chew as easily like Jolly Eggs.

JMS your posts always make me giggle because I have had so many of the same experiences! They certainly are part beaver much of that first year aren't they! I had a terrier mutt (totally not a pit bull) who literally chewed up all wooden legs of all my chairs when he was a pup years ago. Good luck and if you find something make sure to share!

For mine antler's last the longest. Ox hooves last for few days. Knuckles last for about 10 minutes. There is always the reliable LARGE black Kong with a little peanut butter stuffed up in the top.

I've done the Kong that's the only reliable toy she has. I feel bad she doesn't have many toys. I will buy antlers tomorrow. Thanks

hahaha so funny. Gotts love those sharp teeth

https://unbreakoball.com/ is my dogs favorite toy. they also have some good options for hard chewers you might like.

My dog loves these, three for $20 and they last a while even with heavy chewing

no toy should be left unless playing with a dog that chews like that. be careful with the ropes , I have seen impactions and issues with dogs who ate pieces of rope and fabrics... antlers are great, if they are not showing a lot of interest in them then try throwing them in the microwave for 30 seconds, brings out some of the oils and flavor from the marrow . raw meaty bones are always a fav with mine . the kongs work great but stuff with various things and freeze it over night, that way takes them longer then a few minutes to clean it out. if you are looking for durable toys the cuz balls worked great for my destructive dogs and the jolly balls, but again put them up when not playing. nothing is indistructible to these dogs lol.

Thanks for the tips guys. Really appreciate it. Can I boil the antlers with a beef or chicken bouillon cube to flavor them? I used to do that with the bones after she cleaned them like a vulture lol.

I have, I also dip the end in peanut butter and my dog licks it off and stays chewing for a while.
