Gosh, I wish I could post photos! Finally straightened out the doggy door off the screened in porch today. I had initially put this plastic contraption in that just attached to the screen itself... just cut out the screen in the middle, and wham, bam, there's your door... right? No. Not when two meatheads go through it at the same time!! The bottom half of the screen has been swinging in the breeze for a few weeks, now. They got quite used to just pushing through the screen to go out. Well, I picked up some 1/4" square wire mesh, and tacked that onto the bottom half of the screen door, and cut a hole for the doggy door. Re-splined the screen into the frame, wrapped the edges in sisal.. and there ya go. It's now Rhodie/Indie proofed! They both ran smack into the wire the first few times. I'm sure they'll be doing that on the regular until they remember to aim for the door! Of course, Rhodie is such a meathead, that I will put the bright white panel in the doggie door into the dining room... and he'll run right into it!! HAHAHAHA. What a goof! Ciaramama.. I don't know just how much he's got in the way of brains in that big ol' head, but we'll see!
I am also happy to report we've gone a good week without a soaking rain, so the yard is nice and dry again. No more confined doggies! I'm dead set on keeping this carpet nice, and muddy dogs are not the way to accomplish that, for sure! Overall, I'm quite pleased with the new place. I wish I could gush more about it on FB, but my ex is always watchful, and I don't want him sniffing us out. I have a feeling Rhodie wouldn't spare him the time of day, though, as he is 10x more protective of the house than Indie ever was.
Alright! Time to get to work! Have a good night, all!!!
