Question: does a dog know that a puppy is theirs and does a puppy know a dog is their parent, if they were not raised around them?
My situation: I got my pup, because I have a friend who is a APBT
breeder and was moving homes, and til his new home is renovated he needs space to house his dogs, he has some on my land and some on someone else's land.
He pays me weekly to board them but as a bonus he gave me Kahl˙a (my pup) she was still on the teet and her mother was one of the dogs I was boarding...her father was at the other place the dogs were being boarded. She never seen him since maybe a couple weeks old..if that...eventually she was off her mother and she has been in the house with me, while the other dogs are outside.
He wanted to rotate the dogs so he took one male and Kahl˙a's mom elsewhere and brought over her dad Munster, and another male Batman...
When I take her out for walks she goes over to the kennel, and always walks up to Munster and they sniff each other through the fence both with a gentle loving essence about them...
..so I was wondering, if they know that they are father and daughter? Or what?
It is cute, and now I say to her "lets go visit your father in jail" haha
but it is awesome to see them do that, even if they don't really know their connection, they have one anyway.
