7 month old pitbull feeding

My boy doesn’t seem to like hard food. I was told when I adopted him that he had a underbite but from what I’ve been able to search it shouldn’t be causing him any issues eating. Is this true? should I switch to a different softer food or keep putting water in with it?

What are you feeding? Both of mine get kibble with water mixed in. They eat fine with it dry but like it much better with water (and they both have urinary tract issues so the extra fluids are good for them). There is nothing wrong with putting water in it if he prefers it that way. His bite shouldn't have anything to do with it. Dogs chew up their food in their back teeth just like we do.

Purina one smart blend. Sometimes I mix a little bit of bil Jac frozen in. I wasn’t sure if him having issues would cause him to not want to eat hard food. I’m sure he would eat it if he was hungry enough of course but I like to have at least half a cup of food available at all times for him.

My pup is 5 months, almost 6..I feed her blue buffalo chicken puppy kibble...(blue bag) I feed her twice a day, 7am & 7pm... 1 cup each feeding...sometimes I mix in the soft can food version with her morning meal (bout 1/8 a can) which she loves, but I don’t do it that often, not trying to have her get fat...

She is like 35 lbs right now, but solid, very muscular. Very strong...legs, back, chest, neck, jaws. I am happy with her size and strength. She is APBT, so she is not bulky and Arnold swartsanegga ststus, but she has a nice build.
