Umbilical hernias

My puppy is 6 months old and has a small hernia. Took him to the vet and they told me $700. But I have heard online that if it's small and isn't growing that I can just leave it alone. Any thoughts?

You can have it fixed at the same time he is neutered. Talk to your vet about it.

that's a good idea.
most of the cost is the anesthesia. if he's under for the neuter, relative costs would be much lower.
