Your favorite leash!

It’s been awhile since I’ve posted. The pups are good. Just celebrated Bert’s 3rd adoption anniversary on Halloween. He’s still enjoying life and our sweet Izzy. We love him!

Bert still is a puller when we walk. I’ve broken him of a lot of habits, but he’s still a terrible walker. I use the Easy Walk harness with him, and a regular nylon leash.

Looking to buy the pups new leashes for Christmas. They need a gift right? I’m looking for something strong, yet comfortable for my hands.

Here’s a cute little photo of the pups, (and the cat) from today. As you can tell, I’m ready for Christmas already. 😊

Awwww, Bert looks so comfy.
I buy pretty much everything from Stillwater Kennel Supply. Customer service isn't great sometimes, but the product IMO is worth it.

PS. I am 100% judging you for already having your Christmas tree up. LOL!

Haha EckoMac, I deserve the judgement I suppose. I decorated earlier than I usually do. 😊

I literally just gave up on Shane. I wanted to grab a few things from him but after months of him blowing me off - literally no FB messages, texts, emails or phone calls answered but he can post it up on his FB all day I got pissed off and ordered from Eppinette.

Beautiful dogs. Yea Stillwater has become real bad. Just buy some heavy duty bull snaps and some thick rope and tie em real good.

HeatherSen,
Happy to see you back here. Hope all is well. Bert is looking more handsome then ever. Thanks for the pic.
FWIW, I use the over the counter nylon leashes that you can buy at any grocery, pet or home improvement store. I use the ones that are about an inch an a half wide. The ones I am using are older than the dogs I have now. I've no need to buy new ones although I understand you wanting them as Christmas presents, I guess, LOL.
Could they break them? I doubt it. Would they break them? Definitley no, not while I'm on the other end of them.

I prefer a very lightweight leash. I’ve been using the 6 ft leashes from Greyt Escape (available through Etsy) for years. They are $10 and come in lots of colors. Mine are always black.

I very much reccomend black rhino 6ft leashes. I like the original type with the neoprine lined traffic handle. All of my dogs use the collars that go with them. Very nice looking. Hard to brake and very comfortable .

Leather or latigo leads from J&J or Jeffers are easy on the hands, strong, and cheap--and last for decades.

No nylon leads--they cut the hand that holds them.

A nice patrol lead with extra rings and clips is good for hiking when a tie-up might be needed. A short (2-3 ft) braided traffic lead, a little heavier weight than your standard lead. I also like the padded cotton webbing with leather, if you can find them in the US. And Resco fabric slip lead with brass sliding clip for Conformation.

For Dog Trainers is a great resource.
Don't order everything at once--FDT always follows up with a discount coupon when you place an order. They have fabulous padded harnesses and groovy leather collars.
