Any Mobile Groomer in South Florida That Take Bullies?

Hi guys, I have a 100lb American Bully that is deathly terrified of getting baths. It's a huge struggle with him each time! Anyway, I recently injured my leg and cannot give him a proper bath. I'm trying to call a mobile groomer to come to my home to bathe him, but so far, every company that I've called have flat out said no, they don't do pit bull types. I live in Parkland, in south Florida. Just wondering if there's anyone here who knows or uses a mobile groomer in this area?

Nevermind, our live-in nanny said that she would help with bathing him. I didn't want to ask her earlier since it wasn't in her job description. But she was a sweetheart to offer!

Problem solved! So thanks everyone! I couldn't find a way to delete this thread, so please just disregard the post.

You'll get that a lot in that area. The closer to Miami-Dade you get the worse it gets. Heck, even up here in the Cocoa Beach area a lot of groomers refuse bull breeds.

If he likes the water, try bathing him in the hose when your leg gets better. I had a 74 lb BBM that put the brakes on when you tried to put him in the tub. But would play like a puppy in the hose.

My boy doesn’t like getting into the tub either, now that he’s 10 years old, and hates to be picked up. I make a solution with water and the tiniest drop of high quality sulfate and paraben free herbal dog shampoo. I wipe him down with a clean washcloth and rinse the same way while he’s eating. It’s no messier than a good “shake” after a walk in the rain.

He suffers from multiple environmental allergies and this method removes a lot of the pollen and environmental pollutants from his coat and skin and keeps it supple and shiny. Sometimes I just wipe his feet or underneath if he seems to be itchy.

He hasn’t had a regular bath in at least 9 months and has no doggy odor whatsoever.

Betty_the_boss, I sure wish to hell you'd quit posting so much. You've been here almost six years and your post count is up to three already, LOL.

Seriously, glad to see you here. Great advise on the sponge bath. I have done it with mine during harsh Winter weather. I use special feet wipes on my male dog, Titus, to help keep his feet from itching and cut down on his perpetual licking.

Hoping to see another post or two in the next several years.

Hi Joe. I am usually not the quiet type LOL!

Sending weekly forum updates reminded me that you were still out there. When I first joined, the posts were about things that I was really not interested in like studded collars and harnesses, full head muzzles, and bulking up the dogs. I'm glad to see that there is now a lot of focus on good nutrition and keeping the dogs healthy and balanced.

That's where my interest has always been and you will be seeing me here more often.

You are absolutely right Betty. When we joined this forum in 2013 it had a whole different direction. Things have changed and I'm glad you are giving it another try. Hope to see you here on a regular basis.
