Just popping in to say Heeyyyyy. It’s been a minute since I stopped in. Probably because most of y’all I keep in touch with via other means these days but since Joe was nice enough to reach out and remind me I was overdue, I wanted to stop in.
Most of ya know Bama hasn’t been kind but it was a life lesson and things can only go up from here. The DD are phenomenal and have a HUGE fenced yard to romp in now. They earned it after that trying year they spent in the apartment with the hateful upstairs neighbor and having not nearly enough opportunities to run.
They were 3 the beginning of June and have settled into phenomenal dogs. Nala is a sweet, snuggler without a care in the world. Kaos has personality for DAYS. Nala can be a stubborn diva at times but Kaos would literally pop a golden egg out on command if he were able. He’s a HUGE mama’s boy. His stay needs work but only if I’m going out of sight. He’s perfect, as long a sense he can see me. The minute he can’t he just can’t help himself and has to find me. It’s not separation anxiety as he’s fine if I leave but he’s the epitome of Velcro dog.
The birds love tormenting them by landing all over the yard and Kaos is convinced he can catch them. Nala runs along too but she can’t even keep up with K, let along catch a bird! Sometimes if he’s moving too fast she grabs him by the back leg to slow him down. It annoys him but makes me laugh.
Ciara is an old lady now. Her back hips are getting worse and she’s now starting to have trouble holding her bladder. But she’s still alert and happy. The DD started roughing her up and ganging up on her if one of them got in a tiff so she spent time back in PA as she deserves to live her golden years not getting beat up or worrying about getting beat up anyway.
They did a number on her ears in the one big fight but she just looks all the sweeter with her wonky ears. All things considered it could have been A LOT worse considering they were all naked and it was just me and 3 fighting bull dogs. Fortunately for all I’m quick with a break stick and a leash as a lasso and was able to break things up relatively quickly. Nala took a few bites to the face - surface stuff - and I took a redirect from C to the hand once she was able to move her head but C took the brunt of it. K is too damn quick for anyone so he was unscathed without a mark in him. That was the last time they all played in the yard together where I had less control as they could get too far away from me.
Anyway that’s news for now. Nice to see lots of new “faces” and I’ll try to get back in here more often! (Not like I have much else to do right now as some of you know lol)
