Lol! Reminds me of Debo, in a sense. Only, he was the one that would ring the doorbell when he was ready to come inside! We lived in base housing when I had him, and they had doorbells on the front and back doors. He was outside sunbathing one day, and I was doing dishes, watching out the kitchen window, when I heard a ring. So, I went to the front door, and there was nobody there! I thought someone was just playing around, so I went back to doing the dishes, and I heard the ring again. Then it dawned on me... the front doorbell rings twice (ding dong), and the back doorbell only rings once (ding). Well, it threw me off b/c I kept hearing ding ding! So, I watched Debo more closely out the window, and could see him jumping up. So I went to the back door, and watched him through the blinds. Sure enough, he was ringing the doorbell!! When we transferred to Moody AFB (Georgia) from Laughlin AFB (TX), there was no doorbell, but a sliding glass door. He would get a running start from the back of the yard and throw himself into the door, trying to knock on it I guess! Especially if he heard me fixing food!! It was too funny! Of course, my other dog, Alyia (pit/chow/blue heeler mix) would bark every time Debo rang the doorbell, even though she was outside with him and saw him do it! It cracked me up! Darn dogs are too smart sometimes! You should praise Helena for being a good watch dog and letting you know that someone is at the door on tv!! LOL!
You didn't lose your girl, you just lost your turn!
