All mixed up right now..

Okay.. So I'm a little mixed up right now, I'm feeling very upset/annoyed/disappointed and a few other feelings about what I'm about to say. Today my friend took Thor and Bandit outside to play with the frisbee, and he got bit by Thor, now from what I see it's nothing major but it upsets me to know end that Thor put his teeth on human skin when I've spent the last 3 months teaching himt hat his teeth on human skin is a very big no no.. OKay here's the story of how it all happened, there are two sides..

Side One: Bandit and Thor got into a fight and Friend One broke it up he went to re-throw the frisbee and Thor jumped up and grabbed his arm up near the shoulder. Now I seen the marks and it looks like he just dug him with his canines, nothing serious, just two scratch marks.
Side Two: Friend Two said he was teasing the dogs makin' them jump and such, and he had the frisbree next to his arm where Thor bit him, and he moved as Thor was jumping up and Thor grabbed him, he realsed right off when he noticed what happen (I was very happy about that, but upset he put his teeth on human skin).

I don't know who to blame for the bite, well more of a scratch.. Thor is a big dog in person, maybe around 70 pounds or so, now if he really bit Friend One like he claimed then I darn well know there would be more then a scratch.. I know this is more like a rant, but I don't know what to do.. I corrected Thor and told my friend that he wasn't allowed to play with Thor anymore because of this. I feel let down after all my hard working of teaching him that putting his teeth on human skin is not acceptable, but at the same time I feel like it's my fault that Thor did it. I'll shut up now.

It sounds to me like it was an accident. If he was being teased and he was making them jump up for it he was most likely going for the toy not the person. Dosia has done that to me once or twice when he was really excited about his toy.

First of all would friend two lie about what they saw. If they are reliable then why are you upset. A dog that is being teased and it scratched the person I would not be worked up over it.

I do wonder why you let friends take our dogs out and play with when you were not there. I would not do that at all because I wouldn't trust my dogs not to get worked up and start a fight. I know what signs to watch for.

I agree with that to. I don't let any one out in my yard with my dogs unless I'm out there period.

It sounds like it was an accident. My dog has grazed me with her teeth on more than one occasion when she was amped up and going after her tug rope. And when she realized what she did she would completely calm down and either sit or lay down.

Friend two wouldn't lie about something like that. I was out there as well, but I had to run inside to get the other drill battery and to plug the dead one in.

So was the guy teasing them when you were there.... some people think it is funny to tease dogs.

I would not worry about it. It was an accident things happen. I would tell the friend that he is not allowed to play with the dogs.

I'm not sure if he was teasing or not. Friend Two says he was teasing them, and I did tell him that he isn't allowed to play with Thor anymore.

Kam got the underside of my upper arm..ya know that flabby part and it hurt like heck. BUT it was mine own fault...She was hyped up and I didn't throw it fast enough for her liking and she jumped up and got me. She knew what she did and laid down and looked am me as if to say OMG I'M SO SORRY, MOMMA!

I wouldn't worry. A dog grabbing at a toy is nothing close to Human Aggression of any kinda so really need for more training is the worse. Slim has bad Aim I don't play these kind of games with her because she will grab your hand with the toy. She only plays fetch where I can throw her ball.

Especially if you dog was being agitated about the toy. That can cause over excitement. I also wouldn't have to dogs that get into fight playing together no matter what their breeds.

Sounds like an accident to me. Like Thor was going for the frisbee and missed. I don't think you should be upset. Wasn't aggression. Just over-excitement on Thors part and bad judgement on your friends.

Without being there it's impossible to say for sure but it certainly sounds like Friend 2 has the most plausible story.

Marky, you already know how I feel about this situation, as we discussed it in chat. Thor did nothing intentionally. You've raised/trained him well in the time that you've had him, and the stupidity on Friend 1's part is just that, stupidity. If anyone should be blamed here, it's him for teasing Thor with the toy! Don't worry about it, just chalk it up to a lesson learned and keep on keepin on!
