Ear crop Corrective surgery ?

Has any one done this ? When a dogs ears fold on top of the head they can cut the cartlidge and do plastic surgery on it.. to get them to stand straight?
Just wondering if the will still have full movement of the ear..

Here is my boy vet says I will need the surgery to repair this... Had to wake him up for the last pic lol.. Middle pic I had nose strips to hold the ears down

how long has he had the crop? looks like a taping issue maybe not long enough , some can be tough and take extra time. i never had to tape my lunas ears but I know my aunt who bred bouviers had to tape for a lOOONG time with a couple of her dogs. never heard of the surgery before so cant give any advice as to that route.

a month isnt long enough for some dogs , there is a sticky thread in here about taping , a very good method of taping . i would go that route and you might have to tape for months not just 5-6 weeks. Ill go look for that thread and post it for you incase you havent seen it already. a month after a crop isnt long enough to be considering corrective surgery again IMO.

Are they offering an implant or to reconstruct the cartilage itself? Either way, he SHOULD have full range of movement... they probably will open his ear up along the same healed incision of your original surgery.

EDIT: I've discussed the possibility of an implant for one of my dogs with my veterinarian in great detail, we decided to wrap OoOONe more time before scheduling the appointment for the second surgery after about two months of wrapping, and conveniently it stood on the last try.

EDIT EDIT: how old is your dog?
