Deuce is an unknown quantity at this point
Question Out Door Kennels.. ?

I dont know about everyone else but I have to Work everyday from 6am to 3:00pm.
Where do you guys let your Pits stay while your out at work?? Keep them in the house, garage,Backyard??

For right now I have to leave my Pupp(4month old) in the Backyard. Theres a door that I leave open to the garage and I keep his Bed and blankets in. I was considering makin a Huge outDoor Kennel and put a Dog house in there.
Only time he would be in there is when we are gone to work or when PG&E (Electric,Gas company) comes and checks the meters. I want to make it as Big as possible.

Does anyone else keep there Dogs in an OutDoor Kennel?

My cousins did. Their dogs destroyed the kennel though. i remember seeing one of their males bleeding from the mouth from biting the fencing. it was pretty bad =[.

BullPunk77 has a spectacular aura about
tuck is in his crate in our bedroom for most the day, my girlfriend goes to college so she comes home on her breaks and takes tuck for a walk or out to play with his springpole and play fetch and then he goes back in the crate until i get home from work or one of the roommates gets home from school. recently my girlfriend has been leaving him in our room and he has not chewed anything up yet... we'll see how long that lasts though

My dog stays in the house when I'm at work. I live in a 'hood with close houses, and I can't take the chance of some neighboorhood kid opening my fence and letting the dog out while I'm gone.

It's been very nice out lately, and I've been giving him a 2 mile walk in the morning when I go to work. I'm gone for about 9 hours and he's an adult dog and can hold his potty that long. When I come home he's outside in the yard all evening, we play fetch and then go for another walk before bedtime.

I have 2 that stay outside 24/7 they do fine but we did have to reinforce the fence all the way around with cender blocks and cement...... but all the others stay in crates and I have one that stays loose in the house she's a little HA so I let her stay loose.........

if you insist on leaving him outside while you're at work i would invest in a quality dog kennel... OptionsPlus.com has plenty of ideas and they will also customise your kennel with you. I wouldn't let him run loose...a bored pitty is a destructive one and they also become little Mcguivers who get loose... or worse someone may take advantage and steal your boy!

My dog is an inside dog. she has her toys and knows not to chew up things that aren't hers. Good exercise and taking her with us whenever possible has been key for us.
Tethering dogs in your backyard is usually a no no. Dogs feel threatened when it is not free to escape, breeding anxiety and aggresion. You may notice how some dogs tied up suddenly get very protective or vocal because they know they're vunerable, even when their owner is close.

ashbash91 is on a distinguished road
We have a thing that we call our Bully Barn it is just a huge shed w/ kennels inside of them... but our pups and younger dogs stay in the house in crates but the bigger dogs are out in the barn..... then when I get home I let them come out and run around...

I know not every1 has a barn type thing but my sister and her boyfriend keep there pups in the crate inside in the kitchen and the adults are inside crates in the basement also but that is in the winter or when it is cold out... but during the summer and spring they are in outdoor kennels but he put carpet and bedding over the concrete so they wouldn't get kennel soars....

If I lived in a "neighborhood" environment I think I would have a fenced yard and cable runs set up within my yard for the dog.

Buddy is a backyard dog, Niko is an indoor dog. It seems unfair but Buddy will go after my birds. Niko is still in training and shows no interest in the birds. So for right now Niko is an indoor dog, UNTIL i notice anything different.

I'm very lucky I homeschool my son so he is here while I'm at work. When we all go Mikado goes with (SA) Chalice is in a kennel so is Matayha and Maggie is free in the house.

Maggie stays in the house, she sleeps most of the time, we leave her toys and food and water out and shes good, shes 1 yr old so shes good about not going potty.
