Annoying Barking ! Ugh

Bailey barks at everyone she dosen't know, not in an aggressive way but just in a "someones here" kinda way,its so annoying. And even though I tell her no,she keeps doing it anyways.

A friend who is scared of dogs came just now to get some things and bailey was in the tv room and we were in the living room, its seperated by a baby gate but baileys barking made her not even want to come in but she did anyways.

Also, when I let bailey outside, she will whine and whine until I let her in.

Do I need to socialize her more to get used to strangers? If so how do I do this(safely).

She is protective. But not HA,she plays with my 2 year old nephew all the time. She just barks at strangers,so thats why I think its a socialization issue.

Can someone please tell me if its socialization ?And I can put a video on in a day or 2 if needed

Usually have at least a foster a month, its so rewarding to see a dog that always stayed in the back of the kennel turn in to a playful puppy :)

Dogs bark for a very wide cross section of reasons. It's their voice, after all. Sometimes they bark for attention (Hey! You! Pay attention to Me! See me???), sometimes they bark out of frustration (darn it, YOU, over THERE, come over here so I can see you!) Sometimes it's uneasy, or fearful, or a warning. Some dogs are much more vocal than others, just like some people are. (ever hang out with that person who just will...not...shut..up!) Some dogs are super quiet.
You CAN teach your dog to be more appropriate in her communication. It helps to know exactly who SHE is and what, exactly, you find exceptable.

I dont like Mel barking at people who happen to walk by, I live in a city, so when he does it I say no bark, if he does it again he goes to the kitchen and I make him wait for a few minutes, kinda like a time out I guess. he first few months he lived in the kitchen, and then he got it. Well after winter ended and spring came and windows were open again, he needed a few reminder time outs but he got it again, he hates being alone in the kitchen where he cant see out the windows. No he will stop barking at "no bark" again. But he still barks initially for me its about learning to be quiet when I tell him to be quiet...
