My pitbull ate something, but is acting ok. Should I still take him to the vet?

I am really OCD when it comes to my pitbull, but my wife was walking him the other day, and he ate something.

He bit it and it crunched up into little pieces and my wife pulled most of the pieces out of his mouth, but he swallowed like one or two little pieces.

It looked like a small piece of animal bone or chicken bone. Or maybe it was just a stick. LOL

He is eating, drinking, playing and pooping just fine.

But I am worried the piece might have splintered his stomach or something.
Would he be acting ok if it did damage his stomach? Could it have slightly damaged his stomach and it could get worse over time?

My wife says I am worrying for no reason, and that he is just fine.

But I REALLY love my dog and I want him to be in perfect health.

We dont have a lot of money right now, and I was wondering should I take him to the vet just in case?

he is most likely fine if it has been a few days. For future there are some things you can do like some will feed bread if they know it was something like chicken bones or something they worry about splintering , the bread is said to cushion the sharp item to help it out . I haven't tried that but heard it works. Another is you need to make the dog vomit something back up is to use peroxide and feed it to him, make sure to do this outside and small amounts , everything will come back up. Use this if it is something toxic that can safely come up , sticks and bones would not count as this .

If there was a blockage or something wrong you would be seeing that , if there is no black or red in his bowel movements,if he isnt straining to take them and is acting , eating , playing normal I wouldn't worry too much about it. Most likely whatever it was has passed fine, you can keep an eye on him and double check over the next couple days that you dont see blood or tar colored Bm's .

I have had a dog eat some unbelievable things and be just fine really depends on the dog some are over sensitive and others seem to have a iron stomach lol.

as long as that is the case, he is fine. Some dogs eat entire chicken thighs (and countless crazy non food things) as long as he is doing the above, he can handle it.

If your dog did eat something and he shows signs that it's traveled some ways get some canned pumpkin and feed him a quarter can maybe half depending on his size. The pumpkin will guide it out.
But i'm no expert
