What age can he start biking with me?

Sorry if this is the wrong section!

I was wondering what the right age would be for my pup to start biking with me. He is about 7 or 8 months old now, 48 pounds at his last vet visit, and nothing but endless energy!

Yeah I think that's a fine age for light work. Don't go crazy but their endurance is increasing and slow and short bike rides to build endurance would be fine at this age, Getting him used to it and liking it. You work them too hard too fast and it's not fun. I'm Sure others might chime in who know more.

I heard that 18 months is when you can start working them (could be wrong). I don't think light jogging will be bad just don't strain him.

Thanks for your help, guys!
Took Diego for a short ride tonight and he loved it! Unfortunately his Walky Dog attachment broke off...

Awww man! lol I am glad he liked it. Hope he wasn't hurt when it broke off! They have attachments for bikes. I don't trust my boy out of my hands though so I have a bungee leash (just on case I don't want to tug him he bounces off) and I put the end all the way up around my arm. It takes some getting used too for you too lol

idealy you dont want to "WORK" your dog until a year and a half... NOW.. Running but NOT in excess is not work.. dogs run.. SO if you have a quiet neighborhood you can let your dog run free and you can call her/him with yips and commands to keep em moving with you .. 8 months .. to start handwalking or "free leash" bike rides as mentioned above. NOW once your dog is accustomed to running and is 1.6yrs old. then BAM.. time to work em. Step it up. If your talking excessive running which is excercise then again 1.6yrs old.

I agree. Walks and some running, playing, and hopping is good for em.
