My pup is breathing kind of weird when she sleeps

Is it something to be worried about? Also I'm told she is a pit mix.. Any thoughts on what she may be crossed with? http://i650.photobucket.com/albums/u...16/image-3.jpg

Do those mixes usually grow big? Im a first time owner.. Oh okay so it's something common in puppies. I thought it was something that had to be consulted with a vet.

It depends on what she really is. If she really is a mix of ABD and APBT, the averages are like 60-90 lbs, and 35-60 lbs, so it depends on which breed she gets the size from. Now if she is something like American Staffordshire Terrier, the larger "cousin" of the APBT then she would be in the 60-90 lbs range there as well. Without knowing what exact breed she is, and the percentages of any mix, its impossible to tell.

The "best guess" is doubling her 4 month old weight.

how old is she in those pictures, and how much did she weigh then?

in my experience, which is barely existent, my puppy grew until like 5 months, and then stopped. She has gotten a bit taller but no weight gain. mine is a mix of something as well. APBT's do not reach full size until about 2 years old though. they go through fazes of normal growth, then height, then bulk, all at different times.

I have read, on here, that they grow normally for the first 7-14 months, and then they stop growing height wise for the most part and just start bulking out until around 24 months.

Oh I see I guess only time will tell. . I'm really eager to see how she will look when she gets bigger. She is about 10 weeks old right now. Those pictures are very recent. I haven't had a chance to weigh her I do not own a scale. Do you know what your pup weighed at around her age?

Who knows what she is mixed with, puppies are extremely hard to tell. Even adult dogs are hard to "guess" and that's all it is. A guess. I would just call her a mutt and keep it at that

My mutt has snored since he was very little. I think he has Sleep Apnea poor pup lol

i think around 15 pounds. But puppies grow at different speeds. Mine averaged 2 pounds a week. there is such a huge difference in sizes for these dogs/mixes/mutts that its impossible to really guess the adult size.

Like Ames said, who knows what she's mixed with. If you're worried, you can take her to the vet. If she's grunting or snoring, it's not something I'd worry about.
