registration question

i have a question for a friend. she has a pair of bullies that are ukc registered. since were both new to the scene i thought i would ask you all on the forums since i know you guys will know more. the question is. she bred her two and she has 8 pups, she doesn't plan on selling the pups but to give them good homes. but she wants to keep one can she just send off papers for one or does she have to get papers for all. i hope ya'll understand what im trying to ask. thanks in advanced.

do the whole litter its vary inexpensive,

people that 'single' register their dogs, are usually 'crooks'
and should be avoided

you can register the litter and just claim 1 pup in the litter if she only wants to do it that way... although it is the same price to register for all of them... I get what she is doing though , pet dogs I would fix and sell/ give to pet homes without papers as well. If she isn't going to fix them then she may as well send papers , ( if she thinks not having papers will keep people from breeding she is wrong, so urge her to fix before they leave her home). It's $20 to register a litter with the UKC, then they will send her the litter slips one for each pup she claimed, she will then have to send in that slip for her pup with the info she wants on it and it will cost anywhere from $25- $55 depending on the number of generations she goes with....

She needs to register the litter and then she can as Angel said reg the one to her. Also like she said the others need to be altered.

Why would she breed them just to have pups to give away? Unless this was an accident litter..... I would recommend she paper them and hold their papers, but encourage people to participate in events with the puppies. It is a fun bonding experience and I encourage anyone who has the chance to do things with there dogs even if they are pets. She should be registering them with the ABKC as well if they are Bullies.

It's only $20 to register a litter so I would go ahead and get the whole litter registered although if they are bullies they should be ABKC registered not UKC. I would get all of the pups spayed and neutered, vetted, and then put them for adoption for $50-$100 with their papers. Free to good home dogs don't always go to a good home. Dogs that are bought for high amounts don't either but you'll have to judge that for yourself. Maybe advertise them at a local vets office. Lots of vets allow people to advertise puppies looking for GOOD homes and chances are higher for a good home setting there than Craigslist.

She's had the pair forever and she wants a puppy from the 2 since her boy is getting older. She said she just wanted a "grandson" from him. The mom is getting old also. So I totally understand since I see how much she's attached to the dogs. But she does plan on spay/nutering the pups. At what age can they be fixed so I can give her a heads up!

ugh, that's such a horrible reason, lol. But whatever

depends, but for pets and for her to ensure they get it done anytime after 8 week and before 4 months, since dogs have been known to get pregnant before their actual first heat and as young as 4-5 months old. The bigger a dog is the more the cost is.

I heard that in the UK they let their females go through their first cycle before spay.

About the registration; if she can register a litter and put them all on limited registration that'd be best.
