National Geographic’s Dr. Brady Barr’s Bite Pressure Tests | Dog Facts

"In the first bite-force special, the APBT (which DID appear to be biting that sleeve for all it was worth, a good “full-mouth” bite)managed only 127 p.s.i, just seven pounds more than the HUMAN tested!"

Yup! ^^^ GREAT post... ... Love being reminded of stats like that... I put that up a while back, there are others bite tested I put up as well.. where ?? don't know couldn't be hard to find though. The avg APBT has a lil more than that of a human.. its the tenacity and muscle placement that make the holding on easy for them. Much like wolf snap is about 1500lbs.. also done by brady barr.. defensive bite of about 450lbs.

Lots of animals are stronger than a pit bull. My understanding of what makes them different is the endurance they have more than the force of the bite. Other dogs get tired and stop and a pit bull doesn't know what tired means lol

I saw that Brady Barr episode too, I thought it was comical, It is not an accurate gauge on bite force's.
That was a puppy, that had a mush mouth!
I'ts funny to me that people actually believe that episode. There are to many variations that can come into play when a dog shuts it's mouth.
People talk about Hyena's cracking bones and the bite force on them, I have Dogs that crack deer, and pig leg bones like twigs! Consume every bit of the animal except the teeth.
