food expiration?!

ok so im trying to get more strict in kanes feeding routine, so wen i put his food down i leave it down for about 20 mins and if he doesnt eat it ill pick it up until the next feeding...but i leave the same food in the bowl on the countertop so i dont waste loads of food. is this a bad idea? will the food expire for this short period of time? thanx for the input

I do the same thing. I think if it is dry food it is fine. If it was wet food I would put in the fridge.

Only thing I would worry about is it becoming stale, but other than that, I don't think it will spoil/expire or anything.

When you say he doesn't eat it, do you mean he'll ignore it altogether? You might want to adjust your intervals of feeding time.

Maybe when you pick it up put the left over in a plastic bag? so that it doesnt go stale like Nesone said. I mean the way I would think of it is like you leave a bag of chips open for a little while they get kinda wierd tasting that might happen with dry kibble?
If hes not eating all the kibble you put down for him you might want to try feeding smaller amounts a few times a day so he can finish what you put down for him and you are still giving him the same amout just thruout the day.
