Kibble ?

Recommendations Please ....

Been feeding my 3yr old ... Taste Of The Wild "High Prairie Formula" most of her life with a brief period of Orijen in between for a few months after she turned 1yr old but got sick of the price.

Have a new pup and was thinking I might try something new for him and my 3yr old.
A couple of my friends swear by Blue Buffalo and my 3 yr old ate it for 3 days while we were camping and loved it with no change in stool color or consistency. "forgot a bag at home that happened to contain the dog food"

i'd like to keep it in the $1 a lb. or so price range especially now that there's 2 of them.

Thanks!

I used to feed blue buffalo before switching to Orijen. My boy liked it and did ok on it. The reason I say ok and not good bc I noticed a difference after the switch. He used to have the nastiest gas that could clear a room out, his stool smelled strong like his gas, and he crapped more. His stool was also pretty soft on it.

But I have friends who swear by it also. That's what my sister feeds as well. I don't think it's $1 a lb tho. For a 25lb bag it's about $60

When I switched her to Orijen her stool turned solid and dark almost black.

I pay $34.99 for 30lbs of taste of the wild from a feed store out in the middle of nowhere or it's like $10 more everywhere else.

From the research I did almost 3 years ago and again a year later when I went to Orijen for a brief period it's great food for the price point and better than some foods that are much more.

Maybe I'll just stick with it rather than paying twice as much.

It's gonna go down to budget for you. You want to get the best for what you can afford. Example: we feed 4Health grain free. It's about a dollar a pound roughly and my dogs do well on it. I'd love to feed raw in the future and do reading on it constantly.

If your dog does well then great. I just always recommend trying to stick with grain free and look for the best for your budget. There's a sticky in health and nutrition and it's called dog food rating and you can rate the dog food you're feeding or thinking of feeding and give it a "grade."

I feed acana and I'm very pleased. It's a high end food but orijen is not that much more expensive on chewy.com. I don't know if you checked out the site yet but I order my kibble from there.

I think totw is a diamond brand product. Quality of ingredients is alwwys up for question with diamond products. As others said feed the highest quality grain free kibble you can afford or try the switch to raw.

Totw is a diamond product. I've heard good and had friends that have experienced bad. I personally use orijen for Hemi and evo for my weiners. I would love to try raw..... no patience for it right now lol

Totw is fine and dogs can survive on it. The reason many say no is because of the recalls from diamond and they now use the same food grade in their food as reg diami d products. Ive feddiamond products onand off for 15 years and neverhave had a problem.

I was originally recommended TOTW from a large wholesale club pet supply "think costco" in Los Angeles. they sell EVERY food in existence. there were about 5 employees there that all said hands down you can't find a better grain free kibble for the price and that they have more than a few foods that cost 50% more and not as good. 1 of them even mentioned those recalls and said that they have gotten a bad rep by some people but in reality most manufacturers don't recall when they should.

I am no expert but she sure seems to be doing well on it the last 3 years.
Also apparently a lot of people feed their bulls TOTW check this link I found this morning.

What kind of kibble does everybody feed their dogs???

Also this link I just found from chewy.com on the 5 star reviews of TOTW
