Could this have to do with the food im feeding?

My puppy seems to poop alot lol. Like 3 -4 times a day sometimes. I need it down to like 2X. I'm having a hard time keeping schedule for housebreaking. I know there is one in the morning (sometimes 2) and One at night but then sometimes theres only 1 in the morning and 1 mid day and 2 at night. I can't get it down.

She eats on schedule every day 2X a day. I started her on wellness but then switched her over to costcos brand (kirkland) because money has been a bit tight and I read that its a pretty good food at a great price.

So could it be the food is the reason she is going to the bathroom so much? If so I'm switching again!

I believe that sometimes with lower quality food, the dogs are able to actually digest and process less of the food, and it passes through, this could be the case with your pup, but I am not familiar with that brand. Sometimes with the more pricey food, you find that you actually feed less because they get more out of it. I hear Chicken Soup for the Soul is a decent food for a good price, perhaps someone can make a better suggestion though?

If you crate her while you are at work, she should hold it until you get home, Lady holds it during the day, and I free feed, so when I am home with her, she poops smaller amounts more often, but after the crate for the day I find she has 1 big poop when I let her out.

the more fillers a food has the more the dog will poo. what the body doesnt use comes out..

higher quality food=less poo.

Peanut is on Orijen and he goes 1x a day.
when he was on Evo he went 2x a day
when i fed him nutro in the beginning it was 4-5x a day.

just to give you an idea.

Does it matter the age of the dog? Do younger puppies poop more frequently? Most likely I'm going to switch just dont know to what. She did well on Wellness maybe I'll go back to that!

im sure someone that has done lots of puppies will chime in.

depending on how young and if you feed them a few small meals a day they may poop more but in your OP you said Layla is getting fed 2 times a day.

Since Peanut was like 2-3 months hes been on a feeding schedule of 2 times a day. i fed him nutro he pooed all the time. then i switched him to wilderness/evo at 5 months and he was down to pooing 2 times a day. now i have him on orijen and he poos 1 time a day.

i know how many times as i hand pick them up (with a poo bag of course) because he has to be walked to go poo.

his poos are getting smaller too lately..almost a waste of a poo bag..

Kirkland Signature Chicken, Rice, and Vegetables / Score 110 A+

this is what the food scores on the score chart sticky that I am feeding now. She's on the puppy formula though

How much are you feeding per a meal? Over feeding can cause to much poo also. And she could just be a pooper. Shitty situation hehehe.

dan'sgrizz is an unknown quantity at this point
Hmmmm .... How's the pups hydration? Grizz n Mav drink alot of water. After they get morning gulps down they go poop then I feed. Grizz won't poop in the morning unless I stand by him. If maverick is in his yard he won't poop at all cuz he MUST watch what maverick is doing. Evening poops they usually have during walkies I find there poop is less solid during walkies but only at the end of the deposits...

Hmm I want to say twice a day but I'm not positive. When she was on the wellness she was paper training so I wasn't as concerned. She is eating about 1/2 cup more a day.

I actually just read the bag it says that I should be feeding between 3-4 cups a day and I'm only feed 2 - 2 1/2 should I feed her more?
