My 18 week puppy is bloated

Today when I got home about to feed my 18 week puppy I noticed she was bloated, even before eating. She has had her dewormer from the foster we bought her from and is up to date on all her shots. I haven't had the chance to bring her to the vet yet but I plan to tomorrow and I'm just a little worried that she's constipated maybe? She doesn't seem to be uncomfortable and she was still really energetic after her meal. She's sleeping now but I was wondering if there is anything I should be doing?

I left her with my girlfriends sister to watch her today so I'm not sure if she has pooped all day or not, she hasn't since I've been home which is a little unusual. As far as I know she has not eaten anything different, other then a small piece of steak the other night and Natures Recipe dog food, which has no grains or fillers and the vet says is a great dog food for her. We give her a cup of food twice a day, which was what was suggested by the foster and the vet.

I've been reading online, which is how I found this site, and it has been mostly worms but as I said she has had her dewormer, is there a follow up needed? The vet did not mention anything when we brought her in at 16 weeks for her shots.

Thanks in advance for any help!

How many times has she been wormed? By 18 weeks it should be 3 times.

It could be gas or constipation, worms, a blockage, etc. Has she been eating and drinking normally since she's been home? Showing signs of discomfort or difficulty pooping?

She has not been wormed since we got her from the foster at 13 weeks, but he told us she was completely up to date on all shots and worming except for her 16 week shots which we got her to.

She pooped about 20 minutes ago after I stood with her outside for a while but she's been eating and drinking normally and hasn't shown signs of discomfort other then an occasional grunt or two while sleeping.

It often takes several rounds of worming to completely eliminate parasites. The first rounds will usually kill off the weakest, leaving the hardier parasites remaining. Probably best to have a vet confirm for sure though.

Thank you! Like I said we are taking her to the vet tomorrow I was just curious if I was overthinking it or something. I'm happy I found this site though, I'll definitely keep this in mind for future questions or concerns.

I did check her poop while I was outside and did not see any worms though, but will definitely be the first question I ask tomorrow.

It was probably just gas, puppies are full of it! Haha.

Glad you found the forum and let us know if anything comes up at the vet's.
