Dodreamzcometru will become famous soon enough
Kaiya eats so fast she chokes

any way to feed her so she eats slower. She scarfs her food down so fast to the point she chokes for 2 minutes after or she vomits solid dog food. She thinks she is in a race to see who finishes faster i dont get it. this is everytime she eats... I cant get her to eat slow, and she chokes to where its scary and I dont want it to get worse

any advice

They make bowls that help with that, check out this link, there are many different types and brands as well.

One of my boys did this.....what I did was sit with him at the bowl, make him sit and feed him one piece at a time for a few minutes. He wouldn't get a new piece of food until he chewed and swalloed the first piece. After doing this for 2 days, he stopped trying to gulp it all down in one huge inhalation!! LOL

I would recommend using Busy Buddy Kibble Nibble - Premier Pet to feed her with. I have used it for many a dog that scarfs down their food.

Ok here's what worked for me....

Go outside and find rocks or stones that are big enough that your dog can't eat them. Clean them and place them in the bowl. Poor the dog food in around the rocks/stones. It makes them eat alower because they must eat around the rocks. I used this and it only took a week or two and she was eating fine. Still alittle fast but not making herself vomit...

Another thing that works is to feed her on the floor. Spread the food around on the floor this way they have to move around to eat and it takes longer.

I had one dog here that did that. I started feeding him small amount more often. That worked too.

Just flip your dog bowl over and use the bottom side instead of the normal side... the bottom side has a big ring around it and its deep so that the dog has to work at getting the food so it will be slower for him/her to eat.

i started feeding chino three times a day when i got him, but he ate too fast.. so i upped it to 4 times a day, decreasing the amounts.. And it has worked very well. We don't have that problem any more. But any of the above are great suggestions

good posting everyone!
