Skin Issues and Weight Question

Hello! I wanted to share a few photos of a skin issue my pup is having to see if anyone out there has had the same issues. I also wanted to see if I have a huge dog on my hands, ha!

I have taken him to the vet multiple times to figure out what is happening and we have yet to figure it out.

We have given a round of antibiotics to no avail and now we are moving on to prednisolone. Each time they have scraped for mange and it has come back negative.

**UPDATE: Day 2 on Prednisolone and the bumps are almost gone!
**UPDATE #2: Mac is 100% better!

---------

Here are a few photos of his stomach.

Now, here are some from today...
Mac is 13 weeks and 4 days old and weighs 27.2 lbs.

Top Paw 10 weeks, Bottom 13 weeks

Has he been dewormed? That belly's out of control!

Honestly, there are a lot of other options I would want to explore before going straight to prednisolone. I would first try to rule out a food or environmental allergy. Have you considered these options? What were the antibiotics for?

He is up to date on all shots and dewormers. He is due for his next puppy check up in a few weeks.

We did the following while he was on the antibiotics:
- Stopped letting him go outside in the back yard where there is tall grass
- Swapped foods
- Washed him with anti fungal shampoo

It cleared up a little but still not enough so we decided to put him on the prednisolone for a few days with a bath 2x a week.

Honestly, bathing that frequently may cause more problems than it solves. When you bathe too frequently you strip the coat and skin of its natural oils, thus drying it out and causing more irritation.

How long ago did you switch his food? From what food to what new food? It can take weeks to months to see a difference after a food switch, so you may not be giving it enough time to work.

The shampoo's 2nd ingredient is coconut oil and I was possibly going to apply more actual coconut oil onto his belly afterwards.

As for food, we started with Blue Buffalo Puppy that got a 4.2 on dog food advisor to 4Health dog food that received 4 stars.

He ate the Blue Buffalo from 6 weeks to 10 weeks and has been on the 4Health since then.
