Worried about weight..

This is probably going to make me look bad..
I got Remy 6 days ago she was 9 weeks. This pic is 2 days after I got her

3 days after the day I got her she started having diarrhea and would go every hour.. Thankfully at night she was in her crate and would scream (i say scream because I don't know what else to call what she does, it's not barking or whining) to let us know she needed out! Of course we called the vet after a day because it started looking mucousy? Vet said a lot of dogs were coming in because it's been so hot, advised us to feed chicken and rice for a day, with other advice we added a small amount of pumpkin. Ok so that ended the diarrhea. I cant help but worry about how much skinnier she looks now.

Glad to hear that you have had her to the vet. Did they do a stool sample check for worms?

They didn't, but since the records we have from when we got her stated she had shots and dewormed at 6 and 8 weeks, we made an appointment for her next shots and they said to bring in a stool sample then.

Does she look unhealthy now?

She does look thinner then I would keep a pup. It is not uncommon for a pup to need more then a couple of de-wormings. See what the vet has to say but in the mean time I would let her eat as much as she wants.

She's eating about 3/4 cup a day spread out over 3 meals. She won't eat more than that and is not interested at all in treats or anything.

depending on the nutritional values of her food, she should be consuming approximately 2 cups a day of dry feed. she may need some time adjusting to chewing. try soaking the dry food in small amounts of this...

Esbilac Milk Replacer for Puppies

it will make chewing easier and add some calories. she is skinny. but not in immediate danger. good luck!

She's up to 1 1\4 cup today. I guess I forgot to mention to that my husband talked to the woman we got the pup from and she said the pup she still had left still had worms so my husband gave our pup a deworming yesterday and she seems to be doing better.

Thanks for posting back Smack412. Not uncommon for pups to need another worming. Keep an eye on it's poop to check for worms. Glad to hear she is doing better.

Stick around and post some new pictures of Remy so we can watch her grow with you.
