My baby girl Athena (11months)

Hello everyone,

I'm little new to this site, but I'm trying to figure out if anyone else has issues with canine solar dermatitis with their pitties. Athena will break out in what looks like hives ( an vet says it's solar dermititis). They will disappear and then show up again even if I have sunscreen an shirts on her to protect her from sun. So just trying to see if anyone else has had issues an what they did to help their dog.

Thanks

Welcome to the forum Athena2015. Although none of the dogs I have had had issues with solar dermatitis I have heard of it before and once had a neighbor whos dog was diagnosed with it. They use to do the same things you are doing but it was an ongoing issue for the dog.

Would love to see some pics of your girl Athena. My girl Athena is the larger dog in my avatar.

This is Athena
An I've just decided that I'm going to make list an eliminate things off it that don't cause her to break out. So as of right now she won't be able to go to dog park until the bumps are gone. Cuz I want to see if whatever they spray on grass is causing it or if it is actually the sun.

Ahh, there she is. A gorgeous girl. Love that sweet face and markings on her ears, Thanks for sharing and actually, the dog park isn't a great place for her to be around anyway. Best of luck with those bumps.

If you do some searching outside this forum there are many good articles explaining why but click HERE for a "stickey" that is on our forum.
