What do you feed your pup?

Hi everyone! Looking for suggestions on diet.

I currently feed my girl, Jessie, Taste of the Wild dry food. I've been topping it with Tylee's beef lately (which she LOVES) but Tylee's is too expensive to go with 100%.

I'm seriously considering cooking her food... Does anyone make homemade meals? If so, can you share some recipes? How do you know that your dog is getting all necessary nutrients/vitamins?

I've followed the trend thinking that grain-free is the way to go, but I'm not even sure about that anymore. I also recently read that potatoes & peas are possibly linked to heart disease. So many things to look out for!

I just really want to give her the best diet that I can, so, what do you feed your dog?

Thanks in advance.

Ask your vet. One vet told me a balanced diet. Vegetables and meat combination. Another vet confirmed the first one yet added raw beef with fat cut off and raw soup bones for their teeth. I supplement this with diamond dog food, they like the salmon flavored but the smells they exude are pretty strong sometimes lol. One of the reasons we are going to start growing our own meat supply so our animals can eat healthier. Most local grocers will sell you soup bones. Raw beef bones for them to chew on. Khal, our three year old, has a problem with a lot of foods. Serious food allergies like vomiting and hair loss. So that's what we feed him. Diamond dog food. We get it at tractor supply here and the vet said it was a good fit since he has so many allergies. He also likes, as a treat something different, Rachel rays food. Not the best quality but doesn't affect his allergies which is rare by the way.

I agree. Talk to your vet. My pups have always done well on Purina One Puppy. But I am a true fan, and now feed Earthborn (Grain Free) to my older dogs. I have fed the Earthborn puppy, which I liked too.
Lots of good choices out there. Just choose one that is well balanced with less fillers
