Weight and Age

Hello all, I know each and every dog and puppy is different, but I was wanting to find an average of a puppies growth and age over time from people who have already raised and trained pitbull puppies. My baby boy is Ares and i have been weighing him every Tuesday. And last time i weighed him he was 20 lbs and 9.5 weeks old. He seems like he is going to be a big boy. How old is your baby (puppy/dog) and how much does he/she weigh? I am curious!!!

This is a good question. I also curious to know about it. Some other thing that I think about is the diet and nutrition, it might be puppy need different food than adult ones, I mean on the market, when you go to the shopping rack, what might great choice to choose. Thank you

It sounds like Ares is going to be a large dog. You're correct, all dogs are different. The rule of thumb is the dog will weigh twice it's weight at four months old. Keep in mind this is an approximation but is generally pretty close.

Wow he is gonna be big if that's the rule of thumb. He's not even 3 months old and he weighs 25.1 lbs right now. I am feeding him blue buffalo wilderness. I give him the chicken flavored. He eats about 2 and 1/4 cups a day. I think I actually need to increase his amount of food. He's very lean and lots of muscle.

Actually, he looks good. BB is a high protein food. I wouldn't go over 2.5 cups a day right now.

Thanks jttar. I am still learning and kind of going on common sense and intuition right now. I am so afraid of doing something wrong.

Your puppy looks fantastic. The care you are giving him shows in the pictures. Really appreciate you taking the time to share with us and as time goes by you'll have a nice collection of pictures on this thread to watch him grow.

Newest update. Ares is now 38.7 lbs and will be 4 months old on the 16th. He hasnt been eating his food as much, but i am going to be switching him over to the red meat blue buffalo wilderness soon. https://photos.app.goo.gl/KFnXKFfc3A99RwRP7
