Allergic reaction

My 6 year old male pit killed a cat. A few days later I noticed his left ear, face and neck swollen. Took him to the vet. They said the cat bit in his ear and looks like an infection. Prescribed him an antibiotic and anti inflammatory. 2 days later his entire face and head super swollen. Took him to emergency and they said they can’t drain it. It’s his muscles that are inflamed. Give him benedryl until the other drugs are out of his system. Then prednisone. They said his throat and breathing is not in danger. Just wait. He looks miserable. And suggestions?

Listen to the vet. He's most likely allergic to the antibiotic, and keep him away from cats.

Turned out the vet was wrong. It’s an infection from the cat. Now the struggle is getting him to eat so he can take meds. Any suggestions?

Infection is a tough one when it's in the face.
Peanut butter on the finger, dab the pill onto it, then slide it on the inside of his teeth. If that doesn't work, pill pockets or pill wrap.

Ive had good luck with pill guns just put it as far back in the dogs mouth and theyll swallow it right when the guns out of their mouth. Its quick and easy instead of struggling to hide the pill in some food or treat. They should have them at big pet stores.
