How much food?

I don't have a current weight on Gimlet, but he weighed 58.6lb last time it he was at the vet. He looks as if he might have lost weight and he is always ravenous! Being over excited about meal times isn't a reliable indicator for how much food he needs though .
Currently, he's eating dry kibble 4health lamb and rice. He has an allergy to turkey, unfortunately we learned this after he was eating it for a couple weeks.
Its only 328kcal/cup and Gim is getting 1 cup twice a day. It's lower cals than the previous food he was getting, but his tummy likes this new brand more. Should I feed him more than that?

Just my opinion but I wouldn't hesitate to give Gimlet three cups a day. one of mine is 55 lbs. and extremely active. She gets 3 cups a day and maintains a nice tuck. As long as he is active I'd give the boy his food.

I'll up his food and find out next weekend if he lost weight at all. He has a nice waist and tuck. He's become more active now that he's been with us for 2months and become more comfortable. He's a fairly chill pitty in general.

I would definitely up the feed. 2 cups a day is not enough for a 50+ lb dog. I feed 30 lbers that and they stay lean.

I was basing his feeding on our previous 55lb dog who never ate more than a cup per meal even when offered and put herself through fasts a couple times a month.
We have increased Gim's food and started giving him extra stuff, like meat and veg on top. He seems to be happier, though he's always happy with food
He's also getting treat balls and kongs full of different stuff like frozen pumpkin and wet food.
We found his one ear had a mild infection too which has been flushed out now. He had a hard couple days, poor guy.
