I think I have a guy in mind. Its hard in my area to find a good Vet. If anyone has any suggestions for a good Vet in lower Delaware fill me in. I do talk to customers about Vets and they all give me mixed opinions. My aunt used this office before so do local organizations but I think the Vet has retired and the one I saw was fairly new or at least a different guy.
I think TOTW has 35% protein, could that be to much for a 8 week old pup?
I rotate like I said but I am thinking about cutting back on raw for at least a few months. Remember, he was running wild and I doubt he was rummaging in garbage cans considering I live in a home owners development and the cans are setup to deter wild animals and stray cats which we have a huge problem with in this area. Therefore I wanted to transition the guy from what in theory he was most likely eating in a less harsh manner. I know he was eating live prey or scavenging cause he was a bit impacted/bloated and his first poop after his warm bath to get rid of his fleas had lots of fur and junk in it. Not that I go looking at dog poop
but I had to be sure of what I was getting into
And you know what really gets me rolling about this Vet is the fact he used e Coli as his main example why not to feed raw. Nutritionist or not the guy should know better than to believe-quoting his words-" doomed to e coli ".
Worse case scenario with humans make at the least local headlines and is very rare. When it occurs they attempt recalls. Dogs can handle e Coli greater than humans so it would need to be a pretty bad case of e coli in which again I dont feed raw beef to begin with!
His other argument to the fact was dogs could handle it when they werent domesticated but not anymore.
Evolution takes how many thousands of years? We been feeding kibble, in his preference Science Diet,...for how long?
