Exclamation Scary...

Okay My baby is only 2months old and so far she's been healthy... she has up to date shots and etc... Well about a day ago she started looking funny (you know when someone is sick b/c they look pale) well same concept for me and my doggy... Her skin was never "that loose" especially around her tummy *she was a chunky dog* well ne ways so far she has had diarreha for 2 days (counting yesterday and today) and i currently ran out of the food she at her "old house" and started her on Science Diet so should i be worried??? or is it just the food change?? and Science diet even good for her???

If she is still "sick" tomorrow im taking her to the vet when i get off work!!!

is the dog lethargic or lazy? Do you see a big change is behavior? Big changes in diet can cause stomach distress, but not fever, extreme thirst or sudden mood changes. I'd watch and maybe give it a day then call a vet. The call is free and you can get lots of advice from a vet w/o going in and paying for an appt. And Science Diet is not the best food but shouldn't hurt your dog either. Overpriced but not harmful.

if she is lathargic take her to the vet asap... feel the abdomen to check for any discomfort and watch for a distinct smell of the dirreah and vomit... also look for "boogers" in they eyes and snot from the nose

hmm... well if she's eating and drinking that's a great sign. Parvo virus is a disease that attacks the intestines. that is awful high for a check for parvo...call another vet you shouldn't me charged more than an office visit, a fecal exam, and the testing. if she does have it then you can count on spending alot more than 200 for the rehabilitation because your pup will have to be hospitalized and put on IVs because they "starve" the disease to death by not allowing your dog to eat or drink... do you have a local humane society???

is she's eating and drinking alright and her poop is normal now there is no worry for parvo. it's definately not something that just gets better! im glad she's ok... it must've been something she ate.
