BullPunk77 has a spectacular aura about
feeding question

Molly will only eat when someone is in the room with her watching her eat, any ideas why this may be and how to break her of this habit, in the mornings i am rushing about making adjustments on my bike and getting my bag ready for the day while the girlfriend and roommmates get ready for classes so no one has any time to sit and watch her eat. she refuses to eat if no one is there and i am worried she will not receive proper nutrition for the day she is already under weight and i really want her to get to full health, any suggestions?

saphira is the same way, she'll only eat if im down stairs with her. so what i do is eat breakfast with her. i had to make time to make sure she gets the proper amount of food. im sorry but theres no other way i know of but making time, she is like my daughter and i make time for her as i would for my son.

you put the food in for 10 minutes walk away, if they do not eat in those 10 minutes you pick it up and feed at dinner time.
You must break them of the habit, and the only way is to become a bit harsh on them.
I use to have a Presa that ate that way ... matter of fact he wanted me to hold the bowl. He did not eat for 2 days .. when he got hungary enough he figured out I did not have to be there and he started eating.

well both of ours are like that. we are in the habit of feeding once a day, after we have dinner we feed them. while they eat we do the dishes. we still have to shake their bowls and cheer them on. if we go out and eat (which does not happen much) we pretty much have to hand feed them.

i agree with deb, this is the same way i have handled this situation also. as long as your dog is healthy and isint sick she will not starve herslf she will eat when she gets hungry enough

thanks for the input we will be breaking molly of this habit because as much as i lwould love to sit down and have a meal with the dogs i just don't have the time i would hate to cut down our outside time so i can eat with them and still have time to check my bike before work.
