Water sufficient for processing, chicken,
wheat gluten= non digestable and causes allergies
liver, white rice, green beans,
meat by-products = what kind of meat and what crap???
corn starch-modified= non digestable and causes allergies
carrots, wild rice, artificial and natural flavors, calcium phosphate,
salt= over a period of time, can cause kidney damage
soy flour= non digestable and causes allergies
potassium chloride, added color, tricalcium phosphate, zinc sulfate, choline chloride, Vitamin E supplement, ferrous sulfate, thiamine mononitrate, copper sulfate, manganese sulfate, Vitamin A supplement, niacin, calcium pantothenate, Vitamin B-12 supplement, riboflavin supplement, pyridoxine hydrochloride, potassium iodide, Vitamin D-3 supplement, folic acid, sodium selenite, biotin.

My overall view by just the ingredients PURE GARBAGE, wouldnt feed this to wild mice

It's funny, because I saw a commercial the other day by Beneful, and they were showing one of their dog foods, and they did some clip art of the different ingredients 'falling' into the bag, and they had the nerve to show a 'corn on the cob', even at the end of the commercial, they showed the bag with a corn on the cob at the top . I guess they assume that the public thinks corn is o.k. for dogs...

Take a gander:

As far as the best one at Walmart, I couldn't tell you, but I did some googling, and found some posts with the same question, and the only 2 that were mentioned was Purina One, and Maximum Nutrition.

I understand that you only want to buy from Walmart, however, since your dog already has an allergy problem, I think you're going to have to look at all the ingredients in every bag of dog food Walmart offers, and pick the one that does not have anything that could flare up the allergies (geisthexe's post). It will probably be trial and error for you and you may end up with a "it'll do" dog food.

Iams, Purina One, Benefil, etc at walmart all have
CORN, WHEAT AND SOY IN THERE DOG FOOD
and if you are already having problems w/ your dogs having issues with allergies then you need to go to a better place to get dog food

why can't you order food possibly in bulk over the internet? Is it hard to get it shipped to you? Some places may offer shipping discounts, maybe look around?

Ok About Eukanuba

OFK I dont mean to be rude to you so please do not take it that way ok ??

But your inlaws VET is incorrect. Eukanuba is no good for dogs that have allergies, I went through all there food to look for one that is for allergies.. I can not find it. but here is ones Vets would recommend for it which are not good still

All in bold is what is bad

Eukanuba Natural Adult Medium Breed Lamb & Rice Formula Dry Dog Food
Ingredients:
Lamb, Brewers Rice, Corn Meal, Ground Whole Grain Sorghum, Fish Meal (source of fish oil), Chicken Meal, Ground Whole Grain Barley, Chicken Fat (preserved with mixed Tocopherols, a source of Vitamin E), Dried Egg Product, Dried Beet Pulp (sugar removed), [B]Natural Chicken Flavor, Potassium Chloride, Brewers Dried Yeast, Salt, Sodium Hexametaphosphate, Vitamins [Vitamin E Supplement, Ascorbic Acid, Beta-Carotene, Vitamin A Acetate, Calcium Pantothenate, Biotin, Vitamin B12 Supplement, Thiamine Mononitrate (source of Vitamin B1), Niacin, Riboflavin Supplement (source of Vitamin B2), Inositol, Pyridoxine Hydrochloride (source of Vitamin B6), Vitamin D3 Supplement, Folic Acid], Choline Chloride, Calcium Carbonate, Minerals [Ferrous Sulfate, Zinc Oxide, Manganese Sulfate, Copper Sulfate, Manganous Oxide, Potassium Iodide, Cobalt Carbonate], DL-Methionine, Rosemary Extract.

ok this one is suppose to be LAMB, so why is there chicken. if you were to use this one as a allergy food, and if chicken is one of the problems dogs have with allergies, it would cause to the problems. Not to mention all the Corn is a rice diet

If you look at all of these they are SAME as the first one .. a bit different but still NO good for dogs.

YOU need to look for food that does not have CORN, SOY, WHEAT OR CHICKEN IF THE DOG HAS ALLERGIES.

well i'm no expert....but with max and his rediculously sensitive stomach and other issues....i've now come to believe that "taste of the wild" is the best thing in the entire world of dog kibble...lol.
i know everyone feeds every different thing....and alot of people suggest raw for those with allergies or whatever else is going on...but if you're insistent on feeding kibble....go somewhere like concord pets or somewhere that isn't a "retail" place...that sells higher quality foods....
i'm pretty sure that totw is free of grains, soy and corn....and i've noticed a change in max's weight and coat and stools...
plus..it might be easier to just drive a little farther for a better food...and cheaper in the long run than paying numerous bills for prescriptions and vet visits for allergies.
anywho...goodluck!

I used to feed eukanauba and science diet the vet told me to feed science diet and everyone was talking about how good eukanuaba was. One of my dogs had an issue with eukanuba allergy related so I switched them all to Innova and have had no issues since then I also give the an omega 3 oil and multivitamin everyday seems to keep their coats looking really healthy and shiny

Vets actually get paid to peddle Science Diet, which in reality, is no better than the stuff you buy at a regular store, and yet they call it "prescription food" and charge a ridiculous price for it and people think it's magic.

Additional to Deb's comments about corn, wheat and soy products, keep in mind, if a dog food lists "meat by product" without listing what animal the meat came from, it's probably a bad idea. Mmmm, horse anyone?
