I have raised pit bulls for over 17 years and in that time I have been very fortunate. I feed Purina, Pedigree, Blue Seal, or some other low cost brand.
I always add raw scraps, leftovers, and if the coats look a litle dry I add some fish oil in the winter and in the summer I use wheat germ oil.

i pass on the commercial dog foods, because of the ingredients a bunch of b.s. compare your current food to other more reputable foods like canidae, bluebuffalo, wellness, innova, solid gold,etc.. if you look on here(an older post) theyve got a dog food test.if youvalue your pups compare first do the test on your current food then you make the choice.i use wellness its a little costly but you do get some $'s off if you belong to petco pals club. i can tell you this one brand to stay farrrr away from is science diet.

Can you post the ingredients for us? I can't find them online. My advice is to check them, and make sure it doesn't have corn, or wheat gluten.

I guess I have been very fortunate.
I have always fed dry food (no can food, no treats)
that is always called poor quality foods because the
high end holistic (solid gold) food gave my mastiffs ear infections.
But since I switched the mastiffs back to the cheap food
that I feed the pits I have not had another ear infection.

But as I posted before I supplement the food with missing link,
oils and or raw and cooked scraps.

Hey guys, just wanted to let you all know there is no wheat whatsoever in the natural choice puppy or adult food. The only negative thing I found was soybean oil. I made sure I looked real well before I returned it. The blue buffalo looks really good and the lady at the store didnt seem like she knew what cannidae is. Thank you again for all of the help. I think I will stick with the natural choice not only because its a few bucks cheaper for 5lbs more of it but it seems like a good quality food.

I have spent many of a day getting my butt chewed on by the best person medically in these dogs without being a vet. "C.J." He is a strong beliver in RAW food and truly it is the best. Not very economical or time saving. But Nutro is a joke for the price, it is and we can argue it all day. Be better off feeding Diamond Naturals but in return, that is posion too. I feed it the similar, Costco's Kirkland which is made by Diamond but I am lazy and very time consumed so it works but feeding Purina,Pedigree or any of the Science Diet crap is just plain posion no other way to say. Feeding your dogs a low level of food like those will shorten the years. I throw in added things like salamon, mackrel, raw chicken legs (whole) ,garlic, yogurts, rice, raw fat with meaty bones - supplements like fish oil, flaxseed oil, calcium, and enzyme additives(when needed) If I have left over roast, ham or whatever this gives you NO NUTRITIONAL VALUES TO YOUR DOG! NONE, because of the way it is cooked, it is a tasty snack none the less to your dog that is all. Research before you feed, it will save you time and money and keep your favorite partner living longer! Don't take my word for what I do, do you own research but the man I argued with KNOWS the dog very well and has written several articles and books concerning feed and has the creditials to back. Take it for what it is worth, a grain of salt. Good luck and start googling, I researched for over a year and trial and error again and again till I have what I do now. GL.
