Yikes! Owie! I second the benadryl, how much does she weigh? I was told by my vet to give my 45lb girl 2 1/2 capsules which are 25 mg a peice.

Benadryl is 1mg per lb. so 50lb dog would get two 25 mg every 8-12 hours. Good luck..

yikes, looks like hives from.. honestly, could be anything. Benadryl for sure, maybe even a bath to rinse the dog off in case it was grass or plant related

OMG doesn't it suck! I had that happen to my boy felt so bad for him!! After you give the the Benadryl and wait if it isn't working you will be able to tell by his breathing. If it gets labored get him into the vet and the hives could be affecting his air passageways. Other than that, dont forget to give it every 6 hours.

Depending on your dogs weight, I use the generic my boy is 55lbs, he got 3 pills to total of 75mg to kick start the relief, then 2 pills (total of 50mg) every 6 hours.

Xena has at least one or two hives every time she goes outside, she is 40lbs and takes 1 1/2 benadryl every 12 hours just to manage her allergies to plants. We also rub a little hydrocortizone cream on the hives it seems to help with the itching.

I was thinking it looked like hives too. Poor pup.
I agree with everyone Benadryl and if that doesn't help a trip to the vet.

My lil lady is doing better now! I took her to a new vet & she said it was a bad reaction to insect bites! She prescribe CEPHALEXIN 500MG every 12 hours, TEMARIL-P (3) every 12 hours & PHARMASEB shampoo! These meds have her kinda spaced out & her urine has doubled in size (amount)!
