The english white fighting terrier is an inbred linebred "manchester" (black and tant) terrier, King George II /III was responcible for the name changes of the breeds. From there the confusion gets worse in English history. The Blue Paul.. hahaha the gypsy dog also the dog owned by the scotts the dog was NOT BLUE as in the sense of BLUE dogs today.. It was a black dog with white hair speckled through it so it gave a BLUE shimmer.. NOT A DOG WITH GREY HAIR PIGMENTATION
. FYIYes you are correct, we should remember the dogs that begotten the APBT
.. Esspecially the gamebred bulldog ancestor to them all.. I have found litterature that states, and you can probably find such online, "the terriers were dogs inbred from the bulldogs. Looking for tenacity and wind they linebred the dogs to get such." SO REALLY the terrier is a REALLY inbred bulldog.. Its hard for us to understand because we don't call dogs what they are according to their function. GOOD POST though I think it these seperate qualities that the APBT
breeders of today are in love with just by the look of the stock, big blue dogs(IMO blue is a mastiff trait unlike slate black/blue paul), Really Terrier like APBTs kick tail in the show and OFRN rings, and the bulldog game gene in the game stock of the APBT
~ 3 different favorites all seperating and coming back together with different names and different functions..
I kinda wish we still had white fighting terriers, little wachutus~
