Aggression towards people! Help!!!

My pit bull's name is Ace, he's about a year old, and he's the sweetest little angel, when he's at home with me and my family, but the moment he goes outside he's a completely different dog! He barks at people, jumps on them, he bit a guy who was jogging in the park about 2 weeks ago! I don't know what to do, it's pretty scary. DOes anyone has had a problem like that? And what was a solution for you?

You need a trainer ASAP, your dog has bitten somebody that's very serious and no one here can help you other than to recommend trainers/behaviorists. In the meantime I would walk him someplace with few people and crate him at home if they come to your house. Safety first!

Sorry to say this I don't want to upset you but if you can't do that the options are very few, you can't rehome a human aggressive dog. Please at least have him evaluated so a professional can decide if he is able to be turned around or not.

How long have you had the dog? You need to start by Keeping him under your control. How did he come to be near a jogger to be able to bite them? until you get professional help, start getting your dog conditioned to a muzzle and always have him muzzled in public. you can also ensure you stay clear away from people and tell everyone he is in training so they do not approach you. There are many things that can happen, but first get a vet to check your dog to make sure there is nothing going on health wise. You need someone to help you figure out what training style will work best for your dog. so I would recommend finding a trainer who works all type, positive and corrective to see which would best help your dog. Issues as serious as this need to be addressed ASAP and hands on a dog, we cant diagnose over the internet. After the Vet get a behaviorist to examine your dog and then go from there.

This is probably the most typical problem with these dogs. Caused by owner misconception of their sweet little angels.... It isn't that easy. They are called "pit bulls" for a reason... Not a pittie , not your baby ...... Not your friend, not an average pet! They are pit bulls ! They need a certain type of handler that understands how to be responsible and be able to keep everyone and everything safe. Your job is to seek out a trainer who REALLY has experience with the breed. Someone who isn't afraid to admit an animal needs to be put down rather than rehabbed and line their pockets

Don't panic as some are indirectly urging you to do. He has issues. Get help and until he hopefully stops, keep him under control and away from people, especially kids. Find people new that you can slowly introduce him to that aren't afraid to help him and don't give up. By all means do not kill him as one person said you may have to do. It's not his fault and he is maybe just try to keep his family safe cause he loves them

This member has been banned so your response will not reach intended parties. It is also from back in May. Most posts past a month are usually, unless informative posts, not worth resurfacing because either the members got the answer they needed or have not gotten the answers they were wanting us to tell them because we are against misinformation. Most members are blunt and will not sugar coat but, are in no means meaning to be offensive in most instances. This member however caused problems or the post was cleaned because this post or another post which apparently was deleted, if there was another, became to heated causing the ban.

I however encourage you to make an Introduction post, Ellyana, so we can formally meet you in a virtual sense. Also if you have dogs please feel free to post photos from your photo database such as Photobucket, ImageShack, Flickr, etc. Get the URL direct link to the photo only not the photo's album page and hit the mountain button in the response on full site mode or put the code no spaces and it should work.

One of my old dogs did that (R.I.P. Zero the blue menace ) he was very protective over me, my brother, and my parents, any one that walked past us when we walked him, he'd back towards us and growl, I just took him to a public behavior class within a month after the classes he was fine.
