human play toy

I adopted a male pit bull / boxer who is now 10 weeks. I have only had him for about 2 weeK's. In general, he is smart, intelligent, and mostly well behaved. He knows how to sit, stay, and shake, so far.

I have two children. My oldest is 4 years old and my youngest is only 8 months. Marvel will come running when my youngest cries to make sure he is OK. However, my oldest can be off by himself and being quiet and out of nowhere, Marvel will bite him. He hasn't made him bleed, but has broke a layer or two of skin.

I tried the firm no and redirecting him to a toy. That works for awhile, but later he will do it again. I don't want him biting my son and I don't want my son scared of him. Any ideas? Suggestions? Help!

going through the same thing here. My pup is 7 weeks and my daughter is two. We started yipping like a dog this morning when she would bite our hands. It didn't take long for her stop biting! Not sure how long this will last though.

Went/going through a very similar issue with my 4 month old pitbull. I have a 5 year old and a 2 year old and she loves nipping at the kids! We try and make it clear to the kids to avoid situations that might make the dog excited and want to play causing her to nip but we also are constintly telling Nori (our dog) no biting which doesn't seem to be working. the redirecting to a toy for us only works for so long, and she is back to her old nipping ways! We have been told she is a puppy and she is teething.
