Best way and age to introduce a puppy to a leash?

My 7 week old pup just trashes around and tries to bite her leash when I put it on her. Is she too young or something? Whats the best way to introduce her to being on a leash?

What I do for young puppies is to clip the leash to them and let them drag it around the house. When they get used to it and aren't paying attention, I come up behind them and pick up the leash. She's not too young, just doesn't know what's going on and is scared.

you can try to distract her with some treats or a ball or toy when trying to attach it. Hold them in your hand and attach the leash with the other hand so she starts to associate good things with the leash being put on.

she is probably a little to young to be using a leash, but try the headcollar when walking on a leash when you introduce her. Our trainer SWEARS by them!

I have always just clipped the leash on, started walking and encouraging them to follow me... and corrected them when they started chewing on it.
