My 9 week pup has just this week picked up growling and resource guarding with her food and chewy sticks and has also started stealing food from my 16 month old. We increased her food but she wasn't even finishing what we were giving her in the first place. We've had her since 6 weeks and the first week we did a full week of hand feeding to establish we were the providers of food to avoid this problem. Things have been fine up until the last few days. We plan to go back to hand feeding as needed but does anyone have any ideas why she is acting this way now and any other things we can do to nip this in the bud right now. We have a special needs 6 year old and a 16 month old so resource guard can't fly in this house at all, not even at 9 weeks. We have noticed she is becoming pretty bossy at times but not consistently. She still loves to cuddle but we are wondering if maybe she might be jealous of the baby? Often times they fight over who gets to sit in my lap on the couch which of course we discourage as much as possible and try to get them to coexist since they are both babies.
Picture is from last night. She's getting pretty high maintenance haha doesn't even like to sit on the ground.
