People should avoid eye contact and avoid baby talking to the dog. They can greet the dog when he is relaxed. The dog is only feeding off their energy and that is why he is jumping on them. If you keep using a command such as "off" or "stop" when he is jumping all over an excited human that is asking for it, you are simply overriding the command and he will disrespect it.

Put it this way, you can politely tell your guests please ignore the dog until he is relaxed and tell him off if he bothers you. If you baby talk to the dog or get him hyper you are on your own =) People get the point when they have my 80 pound dog trying to tackle them and they finally reallize what I mean. With my parents or older people or kids I correct him immediately and knows not to do it again. But when I have smart @ss people come by and think it's funny I let them deal with the Wrath of Bernie trying to climb them..

BTW, I have APBT at 85 lbs and used to be 95 lbs and guess what sometimes they are just large even though like in my case their parents were within standard. Thank You and sorry "just had to get that out"...

Second, on the jumping (the op), what I did may not work but heck give it a try if nothing else works...
Sarge was really bad about jumping on anyone so I started putting my knee up to block him and told visitors to do the same... Since turning your back isnt always possible when they are already up... Then I would turn my back and also instructed visitors to do so... Stay ignoring him until he calms (this may take some time and patience at first)...
If I knew someone was coming over I would put a leash on with his prong collar... When they knocked he went to a sit/stay position but once I let him up we went back to the first suggestion...
Lastly, he was not to be paid attention to unless he calmed and sat down no matter what... He learned pretty between the three methods that he was getting any wiggle butt love until he calmed enough...

Nikita were working on still, if I come up with something new for her (which I may have to) I will post it so you can try it...
I dont care what you say standard says 65 pounds max there are rare cases where the dog is bigger but the majority of people call bullies pit bulls and i dont see 95 pound pitbulls every day i go by standard and 95 pounds is not standard it makes me sick when people call bullies pit bulls cuz they are not
